Speaker's tip (Breathe, prepare, begin): Nervous feelings are normal; they settle once you begin. Helpful: practise aloud, take slow deep breaths, know your opening well, arrive early, stand tall, look at a friendly face. Unhelpful: skipping practice, cramming late at night, starting with “sorry”, staring at the floor. If you forget a line, pause, check your notes and carry on.
