Simple Sentence Worksheet with Examples
Writing tip (One clause only): Find the subject — WHO or WHAT the sentence is about (The old fisherman) — and the main verb, the action (mended). One subject with its verb is one clause → a simple sentence. One subject with two verbs joined by “and” (Kavya sang and danced) is still simple; two subjects, each with its own verb (Kavya can swim, and her brother can swim too), make a compound sentence. To join two simple sentences into ONE simple sentence, turn one of them into a phrase: “The man sold us mangoes. He had a long beard.” → The man with a long beard sold us mangoes.
