How to think it through (Odd days): Days later: divide by 7 and move on by the remainder. Days from 1 January: add the days of the months before (Jan 31, Feb 28 or 29, Mar 31 …), then the date − 1. Leap year: divides by 4 — but a century year (1900, 2000) must divide by 400.
