The method (Read the minute hand first): Minute hand at 12 → o’clock. Read the hour hand. Minute hand at 6 → half past the hour the hour hand has just passed. One hour later: move the hour on by 1 (after 12 comes 1). Days of the week and months of the year always come in the same order.
