Class 6 Maths Worksheet: Integers and Roman Numerals
The method (Walk the number line): On a number line, the number further right is bigger: −3 > −8, and every negative number is smaller than 0. Same signs: add the sizes and keep the sign. Different signs: subtract the smaller size from the bigger and keep the sign of the bigger size. Taking away more than you have goes below 0: 5 − 12 = −7. Roman numerals: add the values, but a smaller numeral before a bigger one is taken away — IV = 4, IX = 9, XL = 40, XC = 90, CD = 400, CM = 900.
