Word tip (Syllable by syllable): Say the word slowly, syllable by syllable: Feb-ru-ar-y, sep-a-rate. Find the tricky part: double letters (necessary, address, committee), ie or ei (believe, receive), silent letters (Wednesday, foreign). Use memory tricks: there is “a rat” in sep-a-rat-e; necessary has one Collar and two Sleeves.
