Chapter 5: Our Vibrant Country
Introduction
A Special Day in School: It is 26 January, Republic Day. The children gather around the flagpole. The head teacher pulls the rope, the tricolour unfurls to drums and claps, and everyone sings the National Anthem with pride. This chapter, the first of Unit 3: Incredible India, explores what makes India special: its Constitution, national symbols, currency notes, languages, clothing, music and dance, and the spirit of togetherness.

Spirit of togetherness
Every region is like a thread, and together they are woven into one strong, vibrant fabric. We have ancient gifts like ayurveda, yoga and meditation, and a modern India of rockets, UPI digital payments and fast trains. "These modern changes are not replacing the old norms — they are adding new colours to it."
