Lesson 8
Boolean Logic
Combine conditions with and, or, not
1What is Boolean Logic?✨
Boolean logic is a way of combining conditions using operators like "and", "or", and "not". It helps us make decisions in our programs based on multiple conditions at once!
2Why Use Boolean Logic?🎯
- ✓ Combine conditions for more complex decisions
- ✓ Create more interactive programs
- ✓ Build logical structures in games and apps
3Using And💡
The "and" operator checks if both conditions are true. If both are true, the result is true; otherwise, it's false.
4Example:🚀
age = 15
has_permission = Trueif age >= 13 and has_permission:
print("You can enter the game!")
else:
print("Sorry, you cannot enter.")5Using Or🔍
The "or" operator checks if at least one condition is true. If either condition is true, the result is true.
6Example:⭐
age = 10
is_member = Falseif age < 12 or is_member:
print("You can watch this movie!")
else:
print("Sorry, you need to be older.")7Using Not🧩
The "not" operator reverses the truth value of a condition. If the condition is true, "not" makes it false, and vice versa.
8Example:🎈
is_raining = Falseif not is_raining:
print("Let's go for a walk!")
else:
print("Better stay indoors.")9Combining Conditions✨
You can combine multiple conditions using these operators to create more complex logic!
10Example:🎯
age = 16
has_permission = Falseif (age >= 13 and has_permission) or (age >= 18):
print("You can enter the event!")
else:
print("You cannot enter the event.")🎯 Practice Challenges
