Cost price (CP) is what one item cost you to buy or make; selling price (SP) is what the customer pays you. If SP is more than CP you make a profit: profit = SP − CP. If you sell below cost you make a loss: loss = CP − SP. For many items, find the profit on one and multiply by the number sold.
