How to use this worksheet

  1. Put your finger on the starting dot and trace the shape in the air first.
  2. Trace the dotted lines slowly with a pencil — stay on the line.
  3. Say the number, letter or word while you trace it.
  4. Try writing it on your own in the empty space.

Tip for parents and teachers: Hold the pencil with the thumb and two fingers (a “tripod grip”). Young children tire quickly: stop after a few rows and come back later. Touching each object once (one-to-one counting) is the key skill. Real objects like buttons or spoons make great extra practice.
