Formulas stick when you understand them: know what each letter stands for, picture it (area of a rectangle = rows of tiles), use it in a few sums and keep a formula card to test yourself weekly. Times tables have patterns: every 5s answer ends in 0 or 5; the digits of the 9s answers (9 × 1 to 9 × 10) add up to 9; 11 × 4 = 44. Dates are chunks: day, month, year.
✓ You passed this lesson’s test.
Patterns beat cramming — “understand the why and the pattern, and you can rebuild it”
Use it for: Maths and science formulas, times tables, history dates and units.
Check: Try it: make formula cards for one chapter, write what each letter means, and test yourself on three different days ✓
