Spaced repetition: growing gaps — Memory techniques for students
Spaced repetition means reviewing with gaps — and letting the gaps grow, because each review makes the memory last longer. Learn a topic on day 5, review on day 7, day 12 and day 18: gaps of 2, 5 and 6 days. Fifteen minutes on four days beats four hours the night before. Anything you forget at a review comes back sooner.
Work it out in your head or on paper, type the answer and press Check. Stuck? Press “Show me how”.
