A gyro sensor measures how far a robot has turned, so it can make exact turns. We measure turns in degrees: a full turn is 360°, a half turn 180° and a quarter (right-angle) turn 90°. If the gyro reads 0° facing north, turning right adds degrees (east is 90°) and turning left takes them away; if the number goes past 360 or below 0, take away or add 360. A robot turning 90° at a time needs 360 ÷ 90 = 4 turns for a full circle.
