Ohm’s law links voltage, current and resistance: V = I × R (volts = amperes × ohms). If 0.5 A flows through a 12 Ω resistor, the voltage across it is 0.5 × 12 = 6 V. If the current is given in mA, change it to amperes first by dividing by 1000. Draw the V-I-R triangle: V on top, I and R side by side below.
