Writing tip

Doer first — “an English sentence goes: who, the action, what, then where or when”

  1. Start with WHO does it (Sneha).
  2. Then the ACTION (feeds), then WHAT (the cat), then WHERE or WHEN (every morning).
  3. In a wh-question: question word → is → the person → the -ing word: Where is Riya going?

Use it for: Making sentences from jumbled words — a favourite school exercise — and speaking clearly.

Worked example: Which sentence has the words in the correct order? → Sneha feeds the cat every morning.

  1. Who? Sneha. Does what? feeds. What? the cat. When? every morning.
  2. Put them in that order: Sneha feeds the cat every morning.

Check: “Sneha the cat feeds every morning” sounds wrong when read aloud ✓
