The memory palace (the method of loci) uses a place you know very well — your home, your school or your walk to the park. Fix a route of stops in order: gate, door, shoe rack, sofa, TV. Put one strong picture at each stop. To recall the list, walk the route in your mind and see what is waiting at each stop. The route keeps the order for you.
