Communication means sharing ideas, facts and feelings so that someone else understands them. Every message has five parts: the sender who has an idea, the message itself, the channel it travels by (talking, a note, a phone call), the receiver who gets it, and the feedback — a nod, a reply or a question — that shows whether it was understood. When Riya posts a birthday card to Kabir, Riya is the sender, the card’s words are the message, the post is the channel and Kabir is the receiver.

Use it for: Talking with family, notes and messages, class answers, phone calls and any time a message gets mixed up.
Check: Try it: at dinner, tell someone a short message and ask them to say it back — did the receiver get what the sender meant? ✓
