Leaf Print Art for Kids (Easy Nature Craft)
Paint fallen leaves and press them on paper to print their shapes and veins — an easy nature craft for kids aged 3–8 that turns a walk into an art lesson.
What your leaf print art can look like
Materials 5–6 fallen leaves of different shapes (neem, mango, peepal, hibiscus) Poster paints White or coloured paper Old newspaper to cover the table Scrap paper
Tools Paintbrush or a small piece of sponge
Steps
Go for a walk and collect fallen leaves. Pick ones that are fresh and soft, not dry and crumbly. Cover the table with newspaper. Paint the back of a leaf, where the veins stand out, with a thin layer of paint. Press the painted side down on your paper, cover it with scrap paper and rub gently. Lift the leaf carefully to see the print. Print more leaves in different colours — make a tree, a butterfly or a border. When it is dry, write the name of each tree next to its leaf.
⚠️ Safety note Collect leaves from the ground, not thorny or unknown plants, and wash hands after touching leaves and paint.
