When you take a phone call for someone, you write a short message so they know who called and what was said. It has a simple format and must get every detail right.
Their words, your message — “the caller’s “I” becomes their name or he / she; copy times exactly”
Parts: the word MESSAGE, the date and time, the greeting (Dear Mum,), the message, your name.
Write it for the other person: the caller’s “I” becomes their name or he / she.
Copy names, times and days exactly as they were said.
Use it for: Message writing in Class 5–8 exams, and real messages at home.
Worked example: Priya answered the phone. Grandma said, “I will call again at 5 pm on Wednesday.” What should Priya write in the message for her brother? → Grandma will call again at 5 pm on Wednesday.
“I” means Grandma, so the message uses her name instead.
Keep the time and day exactly: Grandma will call again at 5 pm on Wednesday.
Check: Same person, same time, same day — 5 pm on Wednesday ✓
Read every choice carefully, then tap the one that is written correctly. Stuck? Press “Show me how”.
