Railway and bus timetables use the 24-hour clock. Morning times stay the same (7:15 a.m. is 07:15); afternoon and night times add 12 to the hour (3:35 p.m. is 15:35). To find how long a journey takes, count the whole hours first, then the extra minutes.
✓ You passed this lesson’s test.
Add 12 after noon — “for p.m. times add 12 to the hour; to go back, take 12 away”
Use it for: Reading train tickets and timetables, planning a day out, and the time chapter of Class 4 maths.
Check: 09:15 + 145 minutes = 09:15 + 2 h 25 min = 11:40 ✓
