Keyboard: U D L R F B turn a face, with Shift for the prime (U'). Y turns the whole cube. Backspace undoes.
L shape: turn U so the L points to the back and the left (like the hands of a clock at 9 o’clock… pointing back and left), then do the algorithm twice. Dot: do the algorithm once to get an L, then carry on.
The same algorithm walks through the patterns: dot → L → line → cross. With an L held at the back-left, doing the algorithm twice gives the cross. With only the centre, one go makes an L — then continue.
