Keyboard: U D L R F B turn a face, with Shift for the prime (U'). Y turns the whole cube. Backspace undoes.
Only look at the yellow EDGES on top (ignore the corners). Hold the line left-to-right, then do F R U R' U' F'.
Now the cube turns over in your mind: white stays at the bottom and you work on the yellow top. The algorithm F R U R' U' F' (front, then the 4-move trick, then front back) changes the yellow pattern without breaking the two finished layers. A line held left-to-right becomes a cross.
