    Count the coloured stickers on one piece: a centre has 1, an edge has 2 and a corner has 3.

    What you learn here

    The cube has 6 centres, 12 edges and 8 corners. Centres never move away from their face, so the centre tells you that face’s colour. An edge always stays an edge and a corner always stays a corner. To undo moves, do the opposite moves in the opposite order: R U is undone by U' R'.
