Computer memory is measured in units. The smallest is a bit — a single 0 or 1. Eight bits make one byte. Then each unit is 1024 times the one before: 1 KB (kilobyte) = 1024 bytes, 1 MB (megabyte) = 1024 KB, 1 GB (gigabyte) = 1024 MB and 1 TB (terabyte) = 1024 GB.
