How to Make a Paper Fan (Easy Craft for Kids)
Make a colourful folding paper fan in 15 minutes with one sheet of paper and an ice-cream stick — an easy paper craft for kids and a cool summer helper.
What your paper fan can look like
Materials 1 sheet of A4 paper Crayons or sketch pens 1 ice-cream stick (washed) Glue stick or sticky tape
Steps
Draw stripes, dots or zig-zags on both sides of the paper. Starting at a short edge, fold about 2 cm of paper over. Turn the paper over and fold the same width again. Keep going back and forth like a staircase (accordion fold). Fold the whole folded strip in half. Glue the two middle edges together so the halves open into a half circle. Tape the ice-cream stick to the bottom where the folds meet. Open the fan and give yourself a breeze!
⚠️ Safety note Wash ice-cream sticks before use. Little children may need help pressing the first folds flat.

Parallel lines: every fold is the same width. Half circle shape when the fan opens. Moving air feels cool on the skin — that is how a fan works.
