How to Make Paper Flowers (Easy Craft for Kids)
Make bright paper flowers from coloured paper circles, a straw and a little glue. An easy 25-minute paper craft for kids that teaches halves and quarters.
What your paper flowers can look like
Materials Coloured paper or old magazine pages Yellow paper for the centre Green paper for leaves 1 straw or ice-cream stick for the stem Glue stick
Tools Child-safe scissors A small bowl or bangle to trace circles Pencil
Steps
Trace 3 or 4 circles on coloured paper using a small bowl, and cut them out. Fold one circle in half, then in half again — it is now a quarter. Round the open curved edge with scissors to make a petal shape. Do not cut the folded corner. Open it: you have four petals. Repeat with the other circles. Stack the petal circles, turning each one a little so the petals show in between. Glue the centres together. Roll a small ball of yellow paper and glue it in the middle. Glue the flower to the top of the straw and add two green leaves.
⚠️ Safety note Cut away from your fingers and keep the scissors closed when you pass them to someone.

Fractions: a whole circle, a half and a quarter. Symmetry: all four petals match. Name the parts of a real flower: petals, centre, stem and leaves.
