Sequence recall — a colour memory game for kids

Coloured pads light up one after another. Watch, then tap them in the same order. Every round adds one more light — how long a sequence can you remember?

How to play Sequence Recall

  1. Choose easy (4 pads, slow), medium (4 pads, faster) or hard (6 pads, fastest).
  2. Watch the pads light up and listen to their notes. Then tap the same pads in the same order (or press keys 1–6).
  3. Every right round adds one more light. One mistake ends the game — your score is the longest sequence you repeated.
  4. Repeat a sequence of 12 for the Echo Master badge. Signed in? Challenge a friend to the same sequence.

Sequence Recall — questions

How does the sequence memory game work?

It is like the classic “Simon” game: the pads light up in a pattern, you repeat it, and each round the pattern gets one step longer.

What is a good score?

Many children reach 5 to 8 at first. With practice, 10 or more is excellent, and 12 earns the Echo Master badge. Beat your own best first.

Is there a tip to remember longer sequences?

Say the colours quietly to yourself (“red, blue, blue, green”), or group them in twos and threes. Grouping is called chunking.

Can my child play with the keyboard?

Yes. Keys 1 to 4 (or 1 to 6 on hard) press the pads, and every pad is a big button for phones and tablets.
