Spot the change — a picture memory game

Look at a grid of pictures. They hide for a moment — and when they come back, one picture is different. Can you spot which one changed?

How to play Spot the Change

  1. Choose a 3×3, 4×4 or 5×5 grid.
  2. Look carefully at every picture while the bar runs out. Then the grid hides for a second.
  3. When it comes back, exactly one picture has changed. Tap it (or use the arrow keys and Enter).
  4. 10 rounds — spot all 10 for the Change Detective badge.

How does spot the change work?

You see a grid of different pictures for a few seconds. After a short pause it comes back with one picture swapped for a new one. Tap the changed square.

Is there a trick to find the change?

Look row by row and name the pictures in your head: “apple, dog, star…”. When the grid comes back, check row by row again.

Which grid should my child start with?

Ages 5–7: 3×3. Ages 7–10: 4×4. Older children and adults: 5×5.

Can friends play the same pictures?

Yes. A signed-in player can send a challenge link — the friend gets the same grids and the same changes.
