Shopping questions are about two steps: add up what you buy, then take that away from the note you pay with. The trap options are the total itself, or the change for just one thing.

How to solve it
Total, then take away — “change = money given − total cost”
Add up the cost of everything you buy (or multiply for many of the same thing).
Change = the note you pay with − the total cost.
Check: change + total cost should give back the note.
Use it for: Money questions in Class 2–4 papers, and real shopping.
Worked example: A pencil box costs ₹38 and a pen costs ₹25. You pay for both with a ₹100 note. How much change do you get? ₹37
Total cost: ₹38 + ₹25 = ₹63.
Change: ₹100 − ₹63 = ₹37.
Check: ₹37 + ₹63 = ₹100 ✓
