The method

Read, choose, check — “name the type of question, use its method, check your answer”

  1. Find the type of question first.
  2. Use the method from that lesson, step by step.
  3. Check: multiply back after dividing, add back after subtracting, and make sure the units are right.

Use it for: Revision before a Class 3 maths test or the end of the year.

Worked example: 7 × ? = 56 → 8

  1. Use the table of 7: which number × 7 = 56?
  2. 7 × 8 = 56, so ? = 8.

Check: 56 ÷ 7 = 8 ✓
