In the Indian system the places from the right are ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands, lakhs, ten lakhs and crores. Commas go after the first 3 digits from the right and then after every 2 digits: 3,46,20,875. 100 thousand make 1 lakh and 100 lakh make 1 crore.
