Safe internet and cyber safety — Computer worksheet

The internet is useful, but we must stay safe on it. Use strong passwords and keep them secret; never share an OTP or password with anyone — not even someone who says they are from the bank. Do not click unknown links, do not post your home address and think before you post. If anything online feels wrong or someone is mean to you, tell a trusted adult.

Remember

Secret, safe, ask — “keep secrets secret, stay safe, and ask a trusted adult”

  1. Strong password: 8 or more characters mixing capital and small letters, numbers and symbols (like Mango#Kite29!). Weak: 123456, password, qwerty.
  2. Never share an OTP, password or home address; do not click unknown links or meet online strangers.
  3. Think before you post, log out after use, and tell a trusted adult when something feels wrong.

Use it for: Class 5 lessons on cyber safety, Safer Internet Day activities and setting up a first account with a parent.

Worked example: 🔐 Is 123456 a strong or a weak password? → weak

  1. 123456 is short and has only numbers in order.
  2. It is one of the easiest passwords to guess — weak.

Check: No capitals, no symbols, easy to guess — weak ✓
