Pen Stand from a Plastic Bottle (Best Out of Waste)
Make a pen stand from an old plastic bottle wrapped in colourful wool or paper — a quick best out of waste craft for kids that keeps the study table tidy.
What your pen stand from a bottle can look like
Materials 1 empty plastic bottle (about 1 litre), washed Coloured paper, wool or an old cloth strip White glue or glue stick Sticky tape Stickers or sketch pens
Tools Ruler An adult to cut the bottle
Steps
Wash and dry the bottle and peel off the label. Measure 10 cm from the bottom and mark a line all around. Ask an adult to cut the bottle along the line. The cut edge can be sharp. Cover the cut edge with sticky tape folded over the rim. Wrap coloured paper around the bottle and glue it, or wind wool round and round with glue underneath. Decorate with stickers, your name or a pattern. Let it dry and fill it with pencils and pens.
⚠️ Safety note Only an adult cuts the plastic. Always tape over the cut edge before the child handles it.
