How to Make a Sock Puppet (No Sewing)
Give an old sock a new life as a funny puppet — paper eyes, a cloth tongue and wool hair, all glued, no sewing. A 30-minute craft for kids, then showtime!
What your sock puppet can look like
Materials 1 clean old sock White and black paper (or felt) for eyes Red paper or a cloth scrap for the tongue Wool for hair Fabric glue or thick white glue Scrap newspaper
Steps
Put the sock on your hand. Your fingers are the top of the mouth and your thumb is the bottom. Mark where the eyes should go with a small dot of crayon, then take the sock off. Push crumpled newspaper inside so glue does not soak through. Cut two white circles with smaller black circles on top, and glue them on as eyes. Cut a long tongue from red paper or cloth and glue it inside the mouth fold. Glue short pieces of wool on top for hair. Let it dry for an hour, take out the paper, and put on a puppet show.
⚠️ Safety note No needles needed — everything is glued. If you use buttons for eyes, an adult should glue them and keep them away from children under 3.

Storytelling and speaking with expression. Reuse: an odd sock becomes a toy. Circles of two sizes make the eyes.
