Optional for ages 10+: a blunt plastic craft needle, with an adult making the holes
Steps
Draw a tree trunk with three or four branches on the cardboard.
Spread glue along the trunk and press brown wool onto it, side by side, until the trunk is filled.
Glue single strands of wool along each branch.
Plan where the leaves go: lay the buttons on the branches without glue.
Glue the buttons one by one, big ones first, then small ones in the gaps.
Optional (ages 10+): ask an adult to poke holes for a few buttons with a pencil tip, then tie them on with wool using a blunt plastic needle.
Add grass with green wool, sign your name and let it dry flat overnight.
⚠️ Safety note
For older children. Buttons are a choking risk — keep them away from younger brothers and sisters. No sharp needles: glue, or a blunt plastic needle only.
