Earth’s land is divided into 7 continents: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe and Australia. Its salty water forms 5 oceans: the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern and Arctic. India is in Asia, the largest continent.
Spin the globe — “picture the globe: big land areas are continents, big salty waters are oceans”
Continents: Asia (largest; India, China, Japan), Africa (Kenya, Nigeria, the Sahara), Europe (France, Italy), North America (Canada, Mexico), South America (Brazil, Argentina), Antarctica (coldest, icy), Australia.
Oceans: Pacific – largest and deepest, Atlantic – second largest, Indian – named after a country, Arctic – smallest, around the North Pole, Southern – around Antarctica.
A continent is a huge area of land; an island is land with water all around it.
Use it for: Class 3 GK and geography lessons, globe and map work, and quiz contests.
Worked example: 🌊 Which ocean is the largest ocean? → Pacific Ocean
The Pacific Ocean stretches from Asia and Australia to the Americas.
