What is EVS?

EVS (Environmental Studies) is the primary-school subject about the world around a child: our body and senses, family and helpers, food and water, plants and animals, homes, travel, the weather and seasons, our country, safety, and the Earth and sky. It teaches children to look closely, sort things into groups, ask why, and care for nature. This free course has 6 lessons for each class: Class 1 (my body and senses, family, food, clean habits, living and non-living things and animals around us), Class 2 (plants, animals, water, seasons and clothes, transport), Class 3 (our helpers, food from plants and animals, houses of different regions, travel and communication, birds), Class 4 (our body and teeth, food and digestion, the water cycle, forests and forest people, states and festivals of India) and Class 5 (senses of animals, safety and first aid, natural resources, maps and directions, the sun, moon and planets). The last lesson of every class is a class test. Every lesson explains one idea in plain words, works an example, and gives unlimited practice with “Show me how”, a 20-question test, a badge and printable worksheets with answers.

What is EVS in primary school?

EVS (Environmental Studies) is the subject that teaches children about the world around them — the body, family, food, water, plants, animals, homes, travel, our country, safety and the Earth and sky. In Class 1 to 5 it combines early science and social studies in one subject.

EVS worksheet kaise karwaye? (Hindi)

What age or class are these EVS worksheets for?

Class 1 to Class 5, roughly ages 6 to 11. Each class has its own part of 6 lessons. Class 1 lessons also suit UKG children who are ready for Class 1, and older children can revise any class.

Is there an EVS worksheet for Class 2, Class 3 and Class 4?

Yes. Class 2 covers plants, animals, water, seasons and clothes and transport; Class 3 covers our helpers, food from plants and animals, houses, travel and communication and birds; Class 4 covers our body, food and digestion, the water cycle, forests and states and festivals of India. How do I get a certificate?

Sign in and pass the 20-question test of a lesson (16 or more right) to earn its badge. Pass every lesson of a class — Class 1 is lessons 1–6, Class 2 is 7–12, Class 3 is 13–18, Class 4 is 19–24, Class 5 is 25–30 — and you get that class’s certificate, with a code anyone can check.

How can I help my child learn EVS at home?

Connect every lesson to real things: sort fruits and vegetables in the kitchen, look at the parts of a plant on a walk, count the legs of an ant, find north with the rising sun. Practise a little every day and use “Show me how” when an answer is wrong.
