Kabir walks 6 km North, turns right and walks 8 km. Where is he now? Draw the path with North at the top. Right turns go clockwise, left turns the other way, and a right-angle path gives a right triangle.
Harder direction puzzles from competitive exams: long walks where you find both the distance and the direction, turns in degrees (45°, 135°), shadows in the morning and evening, and where one house is from another.
Add up the walks on each line first (North–South and East–West); walking back takes away.
Eight directions are 45° apart: 90° is two steps, 135° is three, 180° is four.
In the morning the sun is in the East, so shadows point West; in the evening they point East.
“A from B” is the opposite of “B from A”.
