How to think it through

Make one line — “turn every clue into “bigger > smaller” and join them into a single order”

  1. Turn every clue into “more > less”. “Kabir is shorter than Meera” means Meera > Kabir.
  2. Join the clues into one line, from most to least.
  3. Read the answer from the line: first, last, or second.

Use it for: Ordering and ranking puzzles in reasoning tests, and comparing heights, ages and marks.

Worked example: Aarav is taller than Meera. Kabir is shorter than Meera. Diya is taller than Aarav. Who is the tallest? Diya

  1. As > signs: Aarav > Meera, Meera > Kabir, Diya > Aarav.
  2. One line: Diya > Aarav > Meera > Kabir, so Diya is the tallest.

Check: Every clue fits Diya > Aarav > Meera > Kabir ✓
