A storyboard is a row of quick drawings, one box (panel) for each shot, like a comic strip. Under each panel you write what happens and what is heard; arrows show where things move. The script holds the words; the storyboard holds the pictures; an animatic is the storyboard played as a rough video with timing and sound. A film is made in order: story idea → storyboard → keyframes → in-betweens → colour and sound → share. If each of 12 panels stands for 5 seconds, the film is 12 × 5 = 60 seconds long.
