What do children learn in this animation, design and video course?

In Part 1 children learn how animation works: still pictures shown fast seem to move (persistence of vision), frames and frame rate (frames = seconds × fps), flipbooks, keyframes and in-betweens, the steps of stop motion, six clear principles of animation — squash and stretch, anticipation, timing, follow-through, slow in and slow out, and arcs — and how to plan with a storyboard. In Part 2 they learn graphic design: the elements (line, shape, colour, typography and space), the principles (contrast, alignment, repetition, proximity, balance and hierarchy), colour schemes, readable fonts, which poster or infographic layout is clearer, pixels and aspect ratios (16:9, 4:3, 1:1), file types (JPG, PNG, PDF) and copyright and credit. In Part 3 they learn video: wide, medium and close-up shots, camera angles, the rule of thirds, lighting, sound and music volume, editing basics (cut, trim, transitions, titles and the timeline), adding up clip lengths, telling a story with video and sharing safely. Everything works on paper and screen with any free app — no brand-name software is needed.

Animation, Design & Video for Kids questions

What is animation for kids?

Animation for kids teaches how still pictures are made to move — frames and frame rate, flipbooks, keyframes, stop motion and the principles of animation — and this course adds graphic design for students and video editing for beginners. There are 24 short, free lessons with practice, tests and worksheets.

Bachchon ko animation aur video editing kaise sikhaye? (Hindi)

What age is this course for?

Ages 9 to 18. Part 1 (animation) suits ages 9–12, Part 2 (graphic design) ages 11–15 and Part 3 (video) ages 12–18. Older students can start anywhere and revise with the tests.

Do we need special software or a camera?

No. Every lesson, test and worksheet works on paper and screen. To try things out, any free animation app, design app or video editor and an ordinary phone are enough — use them with a parent. We never ask you to buy a particular brand.

Where can my child practise drawing for animation?

Good animation starts with drawing. Try our free drawing worksheets (talentjr.in/drawing-worksheets) for dot-to-dot, grid drawing and symmetry, and Art & Painting for Kids (talentjr.in/art-for-kids) for colour, shading and folk art — then come back and turn those drawings into a flipbook.

Is stop motion good for kids?

Yes. Stop motion for kids needs only clay or toys, a phone on a stand and a lamp. It teaches patience, planning, frame rate and storytelling. Lesson 5 explains the steps and the photo sums, and lesson 7 shows how to plan with a storyboard.

How do I get a certificate?

Sign in and pass the 20-question test of a lesson (16 or more right) to earn its badge. Pass every lesson of a part — Part 1 is lessons 1–8, Part 2 is 9–16, Part 3 is 17–24 — and you get that part’s certificate, with a code anyone can check.

Is this course free?

Yes. All 24 lessons, practice, tests, worksheets, badges and certificates are free. Classes with a TalentJR teacher (online or at home) are paid — request a call back for fees.

Are there animation and video editing classes near me?
