Say It! — questions

Is my child’s voice recorded?

No. Listening uses the browser’s own speech recognition (for example in Chrome). Nothing is recorded or sent to TalentJR — only the words the browser understood are used to give stars.

Which browsers work?

Chrome on Android phones and on computers works best; Edge too. If a browser cannot listen, your child can still say each card aloud and tap “I said it”.

Why does Say It! not give Rewards points?

Because our server cannot hear the child, Say It! is practice: best scores and the Clear Speaker badge are saved, but it does not count towards Rewards points or friend challenges.

How are the stars given?

Three stars when every word is heard, two when nearly every word is, one for some of the words. Small slips in longer words are fine.
