Sudoku for kids — 4×4 and 6×6 logic puzzles

Free sudoku for kids: 4×4 grids with digits 1–4 and 6×6 grids with 1–6. Every puzzle has exactly one answer — and there is always a next square to find.

How to play Sudoku for Kids

  1. Choose 4×4 easy (digits 1–4), 6×6 medium or 6×6 hard (digits 1–6).
  2. Every row, every column and every box must have each digit exactly once.
  3. Look for a row, column or box with just one empty square — or a square where only one digit fits. Type it. Clashing digits turn red.
  4. Press ✓ Check when the grid is full. 3 grids a round — solve all 3 on 6×6 for the Sudoku Solver badge.

Is this sudoku for kids free?

Yes. It is free in the browser on phones, tablets and computers — no download and no sign-up needed to play.

Which size should my child start with?

Start with 4×4 (digits 1 to 4, boxes of 2×2) from about age 6. When it feels easy, move to 6×6 (digits 1 to 6, boxes of 2 rows × 3 columns), then 6×6 hard.

Does every puzzle have only one answer?

Yes. Our computer removes digits only while the grid can still be solved one square at a time, and our tests check thousands of puzzles with a full solver — so there is exactly one answer and never a guess.

How do children solve sudoku?

Find a row, column or box with only one gap, or a square where only one digit is still possible. Write it in and look again — each new digit makes the next one easier.
