Number Crossword — questions

What is a number crossword?

A maths crossword: instead of words, the rows and columns are number sentences like 4 + 5 = 9. Where a row and a column cross, they share a number.

Does every grid have only one answer?

Yes. The gaps are chosen so that you can always find a sum with just one missing number — so every number can be worked out, one step at a time, and there is only one answer.

How do I find a missing number?

Use the opposite operation: in ? + 5 = 9, take away: 9 − 5 = 4. In 6 × ? = 24, divide: 24 ÷ 6 = 4.

Is it free?

Yes — free in the browser on phones, tablets and computers.
