Maths Riddles — questions

Are these maths riddles with answers?

Yes. After each riddle you see the answer, and if you got it wrong, a short explanation of how to work it out.

Does every riddle have only one answer?

Yes. The clues are chosen so that exactly one whole number in the range fits them all — this is checked by computer for thousands of riddles.

How should a child solve an “I am a number” riddle?

Start with the clue that leaves the fewest numbers (like “more than 24 and less than 38”), write those numbers down, then cross out the ones that break each other clue.

Which level should my child choose?

Easy for ages 7–9, medium for 9–11 and hard (primes, remainders, squares) for 11 and up.
