Magic Square — questions

What is a magic square?

A grid of numbers where every row, every column and both diagonals have the same total — the magic total. In a 3×3 magic square the middle number is always one third of the total.

Does every puzzle have only one answer?

Yes. The empty squares are chosen so that the totals fix every missing number — checked by computer for thousands of puzzles.

How do I start?

Look for a line with just one empty square. Add the numbers you can see and take that away from the magic total. Then a new line will have one gap left.

Is it free?

Yes — free in the browser on phones, tablets and computers.
