Cube roots of perfect cubes are even quicker than square roots: each last digit gives exactly one ending.
✓ You passed this trick’s test.
The trick
Vilokanam — “by observation”
Last digit → unit digit of the root: 2↔8 and 3↔7 swap, every other digit stays the same.
Remove the last three digits; the biggest cube not more than what is left gives the tens digit.
Put them together.
Use it for: Perfect cubes up to 6 digits (roots 11–99).
Worked example: ∛110592 = 48
Ends in 2 → the root ends in 8.
Remove 592 → 110; 4³ = 64 is the biggest cube in 110 → tens digit 4.
Answer: 48.
Check: 48 × 48 × 48 = 110592 ✓
