Maths Tricks for Kids questions

What are some easy maths tricks for kids?

Three favourites: the 9-times finger trick (fold down a finger and read the answer on your hands), × 4 by doubling twice, and adding 1 to 100 by pairing numbers (50 pairs of 101 = 5050). Each trick in this course has a worked example and practice questions.

Maths tricks kaise sikhe? (Hindi)

What age is this maths tricks course for?

Ages 7 to 14. Children of 7–9 start with Part 1 (finger and table tricks), 9–12 enjoy Part 2 (number magic), and 11–14 take on Part 3 (puzzles, magic squares and riddles). Part 4 (clever counting and checking) runs from tally marks for 7-year-olds up to decimals and numbers below zero for 12–14. Older children can start anywhere.

How is this different from Vedic Maths?

Vedic Maths is a full system of fast calculation methods. This course is lighter and more playful: number magic, patterns, puzzles and riddles that make children curious about maths. Many children do this course first and Vedic Maths later.

Why does the 1089 trick always work?

When you reverse a 3-digit number and subtract, the answer is always 99 times the difference between the first and last digits — so it is one of 198, 297 … 891. Each of these plus its reverse is 1089.

Are maths puzzles and riddles good for children?

Yes. Puzzles build logical thinking, patience and number sense, and they appear in Olympiad and reasoning tests. Most importantly they make maths fun, so children practise more.

How do I get a maths tricks certificate?

Sign in and pass the 20-question test of a level (16 or more right) to earn its badge. Pass every level in a part — Part 1 is levels 1–5, Part 2 is 6–10, Part 3 is 11–15, Part 4 is 16–25 — and you get that part’s certificate, with a code anyone can check.

How can my child check a maths answer quickly?

Use the last-digit check (lesson 22): multiply or add only the last digits — in 47 × 36, 7 × 6 = 42, so the answer must end in 2. Then round to check the size: 47 × 36 is about 50 × 36 = 1800, so 1692 makes sense. Two quick checks catch most mistakes.

Is this maths tricks course free?

Yes. All 25 lessons, practice, tests, worksheets, badges and certificates are free. Classes with a TalentJR teacher (online or at home) are paid — request a call back for fees.
