Trick 3 works near 10 and 100. With a working base like 50 = 5 × 10 or 300 = 3 × 100, the same idea works near ANY round number — you just multiply the left part by 5 or 3.

The trick
Anurupyena — “proportionately”
Pick the working base (like 40 = 4 × 10 or 300 = 3 × 100) and write each number’s difference from it.
Cross-add as in trick 3, then multiply that left part by 4 (or 3, 5…).
Right part: multiply the differences — 1 digit for a × 10 base, 2 digits for a × 100 base (carry the extra).
Use it for: Both numbers near the same round number: 20, 30 … 90, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600.
Work it out in your head or on paper, type the answer and press Check. Stuck? Press “Show me how”.
