India has many folk art styles. Warli art from Maharashtra uses white figures made of circles and triangles on a mud-brown background. Madhubani painting from Bihar (also called Mithila art) has double-line borders and no empty space. Gond art from Madhya Pradesh fills animals with dots and dashes, Kalamkari from Andhra Pradesh is drawn with a pen (kalam), and Pattachitra from Odisha means “cloth picture”. Rangoli is drawn on the floor all over India.
